Pony

Obviously you can never start too young with Pony.

World leaders…

Stencil – Wellington

Just wondering what they're feeding those youngsters over the ditch?

Idol, Bangkok Thailand

What were they thinking?

Dive

This image is one of seven I took in the lane near the Brett Whitely studio. Very interesting use of space.

Hay

Looking through my files I seem to have heaps of pictures of hay bales and yet none have made it online. This blog is the perfect place or my first hay bale posting.

Santa

Hey it's Santa Homer.

Shootout

These faceless men are having a shootout, why I don't know.

Behind you

Attack of the giant lorikeet.

Bug

I wouldn't have a clue what type of bug it is.

Ducks

What I want to know is what did these ducks do to get locked up?

Cormorant

The cormorants look great but their guano leave a bit to be desired.

Horse in a shop

This image was taken in 2004 and I have no memory as to what it represents.

Pumpkins

Hey I took the photo, I didn't paint the pumpkins.

Burrill

Definitely a letterbox.

Ginmara Arabians

Not sure if this is a letterbox or sculpture.

Mt Kaputar National Park

This image was taken in Mt Kaputar National Park in 2005. I went for a spring drive north to the national parks inland and up the coast. It's been five years since I did the trip and this is the first to be posted.

The Phantom

As promised, here is the Phantom letterbox.

Storm front

In December 2005 I went on a cruise on the James Craig. This shot was taken on deck just before the storm broke and we all hid downstairs.

Crazy cows

I remember coming back to my computer one day and finding this on my desktop.

Ghosts?

Is that a ghost dog?

Festival of the winds

Batbear?

Federation Parade

You don't see that every day, a fish getting its shoelace tied up.

A blast from the past

David Karney joins the cast of Fat Pizza!

Never mind…

ELMO

New fancy number plate?

Victoria

Just what are you doing to the cow Queen Victoria?

Eye saw

I didn't think so…

Ronald

They did that to you and you've still got a smile on your dial.

What the?

Beware

Bicycle 2

I would have said that it was agood shot except for the film crew that was behind me.

Bicycle

I can imagine the conversation, "What we really need is half a bicycle just there…"

Dangr

Not much more to add, the sign says it all.

Wind farm

I occasionally take photos of wind farms as I never know when someone will want an image of them at work. This wind farm was at Taralga and I think it was an experimental one.

Die Timmy

This image is visually boring but it has been given a run because of its content. The photo was taken on a minor road going from Yass to Canberra. So who was Timmy and why was someone so angry with him that they wanted him dead?

Weir

This image is from a weir somewhere near Bowral. It was the only interesting image from the shoot so has never been posted until today.

Silo

The silos on the South Coast of NSW are quite distinctive and I've got a few images of them. I tend to end up in most of these places in the middle of the day when they tend to lack impact. This was taken on one occasion when the coast looked very green.

Black swan

In Australia we have black swans. They can be quite aggressive and I remember being chased by one in Centennial Park. This shot was taken in Bicentennial Park, now Olympic park with a Sony Cybershot. I never liked the camera and pleaded until they gave in and got a Canon 10D. I never knew they had red eyes.

Letterbox

This image is of a letterbox in the area around Bathurst, NSW. The letterboxes are usually on minor roads which don't get much traffic (except for locals) as they are usually dirt roads. I have taken photographs of a few of them over the years and maybe some like "the phantom" will appear at a later date.

Doggie bag

Taken behind the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney this image give new meaning to the term doggie bag.

Clinging on

The image isn't that interesting visually but what is happening is. This image shows a fig tree, probably a Port Jackson fig (Ficus rubiginosa). The description from wikipedia says it "forms a spreading densely shading tree when mature, and may reach 30 m (100 ft) in height, although it rarely exceeds 10 m (30 ft) in the Sydney region".  So here we have a tree with a potential to reach 30 m clinging to the side of a retaining wall just behind the Opera House in Sydney. Surely an interesting struggle.
